Here are a few items I purchased with my gift cards and with the 40 & 30% coupons I ended up paying about 20$.
here I picked up some recollections stamp sets. I've been looking for numbers sets. the smaller alpha set reminded me of a tim holtz style. the numbers were and added bonus. I found some wood embellishments that I thought would be great on upcoming wedding/bridal and Valentine's cards. biggest splurge was the prisma colored pencils. I've been eyeing then for months. I thought about going with the 12 set but I knew would have regretted not getting the 24 set. so I listened to myself this time. a couple returns was the crop a dile (just didn't think I needed a heavy duty hole punch - but haven't gone back for a smalled one yet) and recollections storage cube (too big for my storage unit) also attached is a picture of my new organizational unit from Mr. guapo. you can get it at Lowe's and it really is that compact!(a plus for the small apt) still organizing it but I really like it! hello everyone!
did some crafting over the weekend. birthday cards and also some Valentine's cards (for a subsequent post) here I made a card for a 30th birthday, kid's birthday, and a female birthday. for the 30th birthday card I used new stamp sets in my Michael's haul. I handcut that 30 from the larger number set as well as the craft foam behind it. for the kid's card I used a stencil from Heidi Swapp for the background that I have had in my stash forever. I also used Simon Says stamp sets for the sentiment and cheveron pattern. that monkey is also from a sticker set I've had forever (recollections brand) for the rose card I used a stencil from Heidi Swapp. I blended out with momento dye inks in lilac roses and bamboo leave. then I used my versamark pen to fill in the white space and then used gold embossing powder from recollections (michael's). sentiment is also two Simon sets. hope you liked my cards. thanks for stamping by! hello again everyone! catching up on posting the cards I've made this month. Earlier this month I created a child's birthday card (girl) and a baptism card (male).
I had fun making both. for the birthday card I find these felt embellishments at cost plus probably a year ago in their gift cards/package area. they have tiny clothespins on them but are easy to take off. I did an ink blending technique and just went to town on the pinks and purples from my momento dye ink dew drops. of course had to use wink of stella for glitter enhancement to the background. I used a balloon and sentiment from Simon Says Stamp set birthday bits. the name I spelled out using a set I received as a gift for Christmas. I believe they are from hobby lobby. ink is tuxedo black. for the baptism card, I have a say I struggled one because it was male (and I struggle with masculine cards) and two I didn't have any religious themed stamp sets. Hero Arts has a prayers set, but haven't purchased it. I looked to pinterest for inspiration and found a card I thought I could CASE. plus it challenged me to use my paper stash! papers and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp kit (2015) and love using the rubber alpha stamp set from hobby lobby. ink is moment dew drop (danube blue) I hope you liked my cards and thanks for stamping by! hi everyone out there!
I wanted to share something nerdy and somewhat craft related. last year I saw all these adult coloring books being shared from crafters and thought they were gorgeous but a little daunting. For Christmas I received a Harry Potter coloring book. (here comes the nerdy side). how awesome is this! totally unexpected. but just this week I decided I would color something from it since I also went to Michael's over the long weekend and used up my gift cards. (reminder to self: do a 'haul' post) hope you like this page, took my about 40 minutes to get through, might come back to it this weekend. Thanks for stamping by! |
