Another project share. In addition to the Mother's day cards, I also had a few wedding cards to make for May. I kept these one layer, but of course, I had to add in some heat embossing. What also helped was that I put pattern papers to work! The papers are My Mind's Eye - Fancy that. I previously had a sheet of this from a card kit, but was able to find a full assorted pack from Paper Source a few months ago.
I heat embossed in gold and thought I was done, but of course, I thought splatter would give it a little more interest. I trimmed the panels with a stitched rectangle die and one with a plain rectangle.
Another post here to share a card series that I made for the Scrapbook Expo that came to my area. This year I ended up going by myself, but thought it would be fun to do the card swap workshop. Please earn from my n00b experience, I thought I would sign up the day up -- a big no-no -- it was sold out!! I tried to asked the instructor directly, but was also turned down. No luck, but at least I get to share this project with you!

Happy Halloween everyone!
I have a few upcoming posts that will run through some of the current crafty events/items this past month.
Earlier this month I traveled to Scrapbook Island Creative Escape to attend a demo by the Kelly Marie Alvarez of Lawn Fawn! *cue fan girl squeal here* They hosted a card class that I was unable to attend, but was able to make the make and take demo the following day. What a pleasure to be able to meet Kelly and try out the new LF product.
What a great store they have! It is really refreshing to have a mom and pop store still around. I really loved the set up, They had a ton of product that you can't always find in the big box stores! Of course I had to walk away with something (also helped that Scrapbook Island was generous to give a 10% discount for those who attended the demo). I certainly walked away with a lighter wallet.
I am looking forward to using this treat box for my sister's bridal shower for her take-away treat!
