Earlier this month I facilitated a beginning card class at my recreation center. It was a small class and I really enjoyed it. Here are the inspirational cards that I prepared for the class. Thanks for stamping by!
Hello Everyone It's been a busy start to the new year. I was battling a few colds and had some emergency travel to visit family, but I was able to squeeze in time for this Wedding Favor project for my sister's wedding in January. She wanted a "tropical/beach" theme and I thought making ornaments out of starfish would be a nice favor. I originally started off by drilling a small hole through the arm of the starfish, but quickly switched to hot glue. I put a small dot of hot glue on the back of the center of the starfish, then pushed my jute string into the glue and covered it with a little more hot glue to make it stick. For the tags I "tea stained" the paper using my Winston and Newton water colors (saves my hands a bit from the ink blending tools for such a large number of tags).
For the Mr. and Mrs. starfish, I cut a bow tie out of black craft foam and the veil out of a tulle bag. I hot glued both of them to the starfish. For the table markers, I used the Quinn Alpha stamp and Newton's Nook Tranquil Tides for the Starfish and coral Inks were Momento Tuxedo Black, Lawn Fawn Lobster, Ranger Purple, and Distressed Ink Tea Dye .. To make these table markers I used a 12x12 paper I scored at 2 inches and 5 inches Thanks for stamping by! [repost 12/30/2016
original post 12/24/2016] Hello everyone Back again with another project - christmas cards! this is my third year making my own cards. While i did not have enough time to do all the cards i wanted in time for Christmas, I did get a few out before the holiday. I hope to get the rest out over the New Year's holiday -- a little belated christmas cheer :) These cards have been in my mind since I bought the patterned paper (American Crafts) from Target a while back. I used the Gina Maria Designs Christmas tree die and the KatScrappiness Stitched Rectangle border die I also got in a haul a while back. The sentiment (CL722) and ink (Cocoa - Jayne's Blush) are from Hero Arts. The colored pattern papers are also from my Target haul a while back and the inks are Lawn Fawn (Lobster) and Distressed ink (Mowed Lawn). I hope you had a great holiday. Thanks for stamping by! [This is a repost due to the fact that I did not realize I was having technical difficulties and half of this post of cut off! So sorry about that!] [Second Repost: Correcting Gina K Designs to Gina Marie Designs. My error in the reference. I purchased Gina Marie Designs die via KatScrappiness.com] [repost 12/30/2016
original post 12/24/2016] Hello everyone! This is actually the *third* time I have tried to upload this post.. A while back I mentioned I had an announcement to make for 2017. Starting January, I will be hosting workshops to introduce the paper craft hobby to my local area via the Parks and Recreation center. I am very excited to take this step and share this craft with others. Thank you for all of you that have found my little spot on the interwebs. I really appreciate it! I hope you have found inspiration in your crafting! Thanks for stamping by and wishing you a happy, healthy and crafty 2017! ~liz |
