Hi everyone! Over the weekend I did some crafting. Here are a couple of cards that I made. the first one is a birthday card for a friend. I was experimenting with some water coloring with distressed inks and a stencil from a stamp set from vintage something. then I added some gold embossing powder using a Versamark pen and I really liked how it came out. I save this panel for later because I wasn't quite sure what else I was going to do with it. but then I got the new Simon Says Stamp August stamp kit and it has a pendant triangle border that I thought I would use for a background image instead of patterned paper. I heard the same colors I used in the watercolor panel for my background. I die cut a tag panel and embossed happy birthday in gold. He added some steepling with my Versamark pen and embossed the dots in gold as well. The inside sentiment is from the previous stamp kit and I've used it quite a bit for birthday cards for the inside sentiment.
For my second card I created a summer time card with the August Simon Says card kit. I really love the sandals that were in the card kit and I had a friend of mine who I *just* had to make a card for using this stamp set. I decided not to include any inside sentiment on this card. For my third card I used some pigment inks and did a Laura Bassen blending technique in pink, orange, and red to give a soft summery feel. I embossed a medallion image in white and then put a sentiment panel on top of that with some patterned paper to give it a little definition. I also went to a friend's home to help her daughter make some name tags in school colors for her dorm (she'll be an RA this year). They are similar to the Bulldog thank you cards I made but of course with more bling. We found some glitter gray/silver paper and use that as the outside border and tag cut out. We also made a panel on gray card stock that mixed a few sentiments from Simon Says and Lawn Fawn sets to create the saying "happy you're here". Of course I forgot to take pictures but we had a lot of fun. Thanks for stopping by!
